I will get back to putting up the rest of the hiking photos eventually- but needed to get all sorts of photos up from the months since then. These photos are from the annual 5th grade field trip the Marine Research Institute on the SF Bay.

Close up of where the piling on the bridge was hit. You can see a bit of oil splashed up onto the concrete but other than that no real damage. This was one week after the spill and there was oil visible on the shore of Treasure Island but only a limited number of patches of oil on the water still as most of it had been broken up into smaller, but still dangerous, pieces.
