Our annual 7th grade outdoor education trip involves taking all 44 7th graders backpacking in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. My group was fantastic, if a little unwilling to carry a whole lot of group gear, and we enjoyed incredible weather & scenery the whole time we were out there. Coming home to SF and the classroom was a challenge like always, but made more tolerable by the fact that i will playing in these mountains on a more permanent basis soon...
Van G aka the G-Unit

Day 1: Crossing the Kings River

Day 2: Hiking up the Bubbs Creek Drainage

The view from camp near Junction Meadow

Day 3: On a day hike through Junction Meadow

Lunch on top of a waterfall

Group 4 = Rockstars!

One of the most beautiful sunsets i have ever seen...

Day 4: Charlotte Dome at sunrise. In order to make it back to the trailhead by our noon meeting time, we were up and hiking by 5 am. Watching the sun rise in the Valley was an incredible way to see the landscape as we booked it 10.5 miles out.

A little worse for wear (and more than a little smelly), but we all made it out in one piece!
